Review: Splintered

This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of a mystical under-land, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.
When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own
.

Now reading this book was ok at the beginning, but when you got to the middle. Wow, just wow you first start out starting to like Jeb, but the moment you me Morpheus, I fell in love with him instantly. I have to say I am one hundred percent team Morpheus in this tale. He is just everything that a girl, like me could dream for, smart, clever, hot, intelligent, arrogant, confidence, etc.…
The book is an excellent read. One can lose one’s self within the pages and not feel time go by. It is a prefect new version with unexpected twist on a classic story. The book is a breath of fresh air after reading the same books for so long. Something totally new compare to what one normally finds.
This book I totally recommend it and I can’t wait to read the sequel, Unhinged that comes out in January 2014.

Review: Sweet Peril

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

Should I say suspense or what? It was killer. All I could think about as I read was the unfairness of Kai and Anna’s situation and then to find out it was all her father’s fault, the Duke of Addiction. Hell could get any more complicated for them, pun not intended, and yes it can our adorable Kope is also a nephilim of lust. To say that there is also a steamy scene between Anna and Kope in a closest no less. Wow was my only thought. And just when you think it can’t get any more heavy Anna heads off to LA. The place where move to, to avoid her. Though don’t get me wrong he does make appearance before this but they all are heart wrenchingly painful and bitter to say no more.
This book was a blast to read. I laughed in almost every chapter and Kaidan had me fanning myself to keep myself from blushing for all his innuendo and inappropriate double meaning comments.
I totally recommend you guys to read it if you wanna have a joyous and hilarious afternoon.

Review: Through the Ever Night

It's been months since Aria learned of her mother's death.
Months since Perry became Blood Lord of the Tides, and months since Aria last saw him.
Now Aria and Perry are about to be reunited. It's a moment they've been longing for with countless expectations. And it's a moment that lives up to all of them. At least, at fi rst. Then it slips away. The Tides don't take kindly to former Dwellers like Aria. And the tribe is swirling out of Perry's control. With the Aether storms worsening every day, the only remaining hope for peace and safety is the Still Blue. But does this haven truly exist?
Threatened by false friends and powerful temptations, Aria and Perry wonder, Can their love survive through the ever night? In this second book in her spellbinding Under the Never Sky trilogy, Veronica Rossi combines fantasy and sci-fi elements to create a captivating adventure—and a love story as perilous as it is unforgettable.

So this is my first book review and I must say that I enjoyed it just as much as the first one. the trauma behind the it all. It also answers question that the last book left open. Like what ever happened to Perry’s sister.
The romance between Aria and Perry was more about her getting accepted in his tribe and the realization of what she left behind. Also, the need to help her friends survive the destruction of the Pod, it is until the very end that Perry and Aria get the realization that they work better as a time then separated.
The majority of the tale focuses on the fact that Aria is an outsider and that nobody wants her around. She is a dweller and what means is that she only brings trouble with her.
I found the book a great read and I could barely contain my laughter at times. the hours passed by me and I almost cried when I reached the end. I can’t wait till’ the next  one to come out and tell us the conclusion of such a marvelous world.
